Another campaign idea

Hello Fandom!! In celebration of International Seeker Friendship Day on August
1st, we will be sending postcards to networks who can be a potential
friend to all of us if they pick up LotS! So please join in on this
project and keep helping to Save Our Seeker!! :)

See the original post at the Confessor and Seeker Society

Calling all artistic Seekers!

Dragon Con is coming up in a little over a month and the SOS team are looking for fan posters to display at the LotS party.

This is a grreat chance to do something for the cause, to get your work out there to be seen. So if you are the arty type, get drawing!

For the coolest party at DragonCon 2010, we are looking for artistic fans that can design posters for the LotS party on Sunday, September 5th.

The posters will decorate the room where the LotS party will take place and guests will be able to take the posters home should they wish to do so.

There's room to hang as many posters as we want, so we have 3 different printing options:

print and bring the poster yourself
pay for print and send it to those of us who will be at DC (will provide mailing address)
submit it for consideration so we can pay for printing, knowing there's a chance it won't be picked.
We'll choose the top 10.

Comic Con update

Update from Laura of the SOS team. Very promising, it looks like all the rip-away posters were taken and, not only did all the iTunes cards go, they are still receiving requests for them! They had a 1000 cards - that's a potential new 1000 fans! Hurrah, we are gaining more forces every day

"Posters & iTunes Updates
Just got a short report from our poster vendor, Street Virus. All the 500 posters were given away. 50% of them were distributed by hand, and 50% were posted at various locations in downtown San Diego. The feedback was positive. Street Virus will send pictures soon. Their posters are almost a plastic type material made to be outdoor so people love them.

Keep in mind we have 500 additional posters we'll distribute at DragonCon.

Re. the iTunes cards, we printed 1000 cards. Most of the cards were distributed at the CC freebie table, and some volunteers hand out some additional cards. All the 1000 cards are gone and we're now receiving requests via email for the free episodes every day. The iTunes offer is valid until *August 26*, which means we'll need to wait until then to see what the success rate is. This data point will be very useful for the next Con because we'll know how many cards we'll need to print in order to give away a given number of episodes."

Brilliant fan vid...and something a bit special

This brilliant and steamy video was made by Pashamaes from the LotS forum. Some fabulous shot of a shirtless Richard. And if you don't like Celine Dion...well, guess what, that's NOT Ms Dion singing. It's none other than Pashamaes herself! She has a wonderful voice, so sit back and enjoy sound and sight.

Fans Unite

While you're rallying your spirits, don't forget to take a look at the amazing Seekerwall

More tweets from Project Could

Think what you will of the bloke, he was right on the money about Starz. Yes, it didn't work out the way we wanted but there's no denying Project Could said Starz were bidding and they were.
His latest tweet seems very confident that the rights to LotS have been sold. Whether he is right or not remains to be seen but this Seeker fan is quietly hopeful. Watch this space!

"@JLM_28 Going once, going twice, the highest bidder! IT HAPPENED! Otherwise Starz would have got #LegendoftheSeeker"

Good news for LotS?

Stephen McPherson, the programming chief at ABC has resigned. His successor is rumoured to be the current head of ABCFamily, Paul Lee. Considering LotS is a family show could this mean good news for us?
Let's hope so! After all, anything is possible.

"LOS ANGELES – ABC programming chief Stephen McPherson has abruptly resigned from the network after a six-year tenure in which the network aired such provocative series as "Desperate Housewives" and "Lost" but ended last season in third place among the big four networks.

McPherson submitted his resignation as ABC Entertainment Group president and the company accepted, the Disney-ABC Television Group said in a brief statement Tuesday."

Know the truth

Actually we did our part guys. Our goal was for Stations to see how much we love LotS and for them to be interested enough to make offers for the show.
And it happened. From here on it's all up to the corporate people to make it happen.

Don't get me wrong we still have to keep pushing at Directv and BBC and ABC, not because we can change their decision but because it would be easy for them to say "forget this show" if we all of a sudden disappear just because a bit of bad news came to light.
We made all this happen, but we can make it vanish in a second if we just give up. Thats why Lots fans must continue to fight.
Starz was just 1 grain of sand in a huge beach. How do we know that Directv and other station aren't fighting over there right now for Lots and while this is happening, instead of us being there supporting them, trying our best to make them notice us, we are still mad at ABC and Starz without knowing whats happening.

We could be destroying our chances by living in the road behind and not the path ahead. I know that we want news everyday, but its not gonna happen. Nothing will be said until things are final, Starz took a chance giving us some news and instead of good, it crushed our spirits. That's not gonna happen again.

All we need is one bit of news, the one bit of news that we have been fighting for since the beginning of this campaign, and that bit of news is that LotS will be picked up by...
So keep at it. Things are happening, Starz was proof of that. So we lost a tiny battle in this huge war - pick up your weapons and make an epic stand, it will all be worth it in the end.

New campaign idea

We got so focused on Starz because we were getting positive news from them and it was the ONLY news we were getting. It's understandable that people are reeling a little that it's not happening but I agree with the others, there are other networks out there and we need to up the ante.

We have set up a new email address for everyone to cc us into when they send their emails. When we have enough we will print them out and send them en masse to the studios. Bombardment is key! They WILL notice us even if they don't want to!

Stay positive!

The news from Starz is disappointing yes, but it doesn't necessarily have to mean bad news for us. If they were outbid that doesn't hurt us at all, merely means someone offered more money.

THIS IS A GOOD THING. This means that ABCDisney are in active negotiations to sell.

And money is what talks to the networks. It doesn't make financial sense for ABCDisney to sit on the rights doing nothing, not when they will eventually revert back to Terry Goodkind. It might be a different story if they had permanent rights but they don't. So if they don't want to produce it themsleves it's in their best interests to sell them.
I also can't see that they would be holding onto them with the thought of a possible film, not if they see no value to the TV show.
For all we know our campaign has stirred their interest but they want to see what price others are willing to pay first.

Bottom line is that we don't know anything about what's going on behind closed doors. So don't be too disappointed and keep up the fight!

Reason we fight - For them all

Need a dose of inspiration? Watch this and gulp it down!

Don't get disheartened

After yesterday's comment from Mike Sussman, people are feeling a little disheartened, thinking that if Mike doesn't know, how can it be true?

People, listen! There are plenty of reasons why Mike would still be in the dark, and WE are the ones being told positive things from Starz themselves. And we are STILL being told that. Take a look at this tweet from one of the admins at Lots forums

"When called Starz are still saying that they're in negotiations with ABC for the LOTS rights"

Most exciting news yet!

Sybil from the CSS group posted on the forum yesterday

"I just got off the phone with Starz and the nice woman said (damn, I'm so excited and I'm having a hard time typing, sorry). "They are waiting to get the license from ABC and then they'll make an announcement." That's what the lady said. Can I yell now? Can I,please, please? This is the best news ever. I don't know if it's for sure, but it damn well sounds like it."

How amazing is this?! Cross your fingers Seekers, this is the most promising response yet, let's hope it comes true

Kahlan wristbands

James Montgomery has been a star in getting the Kahlan wristbands idea up and going. They bands are now available for ordering (unfortunately they are only available to US fans at the present due to shipping costs and fees)

Part of the proceeds also go to a good cause - helping the planet, a good cause close to the hearts of many Seeker babies, including the Mother Confessor herself!
James has also sent a wristband to the good people at Starz, to show them how dedicated we are, not just to the show, but to the good of the world. Take a look at the pic and see

Wristbands can be ordered here

Brilliant response from Starz

We are getting some very hopeful responses from the people at Starz, and one today, is the most hopeful yet. In response to his phone call, Maurice Falls was told that Starz are trying to acquire the rights. Squeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I can't link to it as it's from his personal Facebook but the quote is shown on the LotS forums:

And from Twitter, Pieeatingchamp called Starz to see if it is true and they said yes!

Another reason to contact the Starz channel

A interesting thought that makes it even more important that we keep contacting Starz. But No spamming please, we want them on our side.

Reason we fight - Jennsen

"You are a hole in the world. You Jennsen are a Pillar of Creation"

"I may have just meet you my brother, but i know this isnt you. Magic doesnt work on me, not even the Magic of Orden.

Reason we fight - Nicci

'' My loyalties aren't with the Seeker, nor are they with
Creator or the Keeper. My strength is mine and mine alone.
And from now on i serve only myself"

Reason we fight - Zedd

People are stupid; given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People's heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it true. People are stupid; they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so are all the easier to fool.

Reason we fight - Darken

"If that were true, you would already be in my bedchamber."

Reason we fight - Cara

"I was trained to hate you, but I don't, and I don't want to die without you knowing, that I consider you to friend"

Reason we fight - Kahlan

"Think of me Richard. I’m right here. I need you Richard, I need you right here with me. That night at the forest, I never wanted that kiss to end, and the next day when you followed me on the path and told you I had no feelings for you, that was a lie. This is the truth, I love you, Richard. Please, come back to me Richard. I love you."

Reason we fight - Richard

If people want to follow me because they believe in what I'm fighting for, I'll lead them. But I'm not crowning myself king. I'm not Lord Rahl. I'm Richard Cypher. I'm the Seeker.

More press for Seeker!

Freelance journalist Danielle TBD asked her Twitter followers which TV show she should review, and the overwhelming majority of answers was 'Legend of the Seeker'! Some of our very own Seeker babies are quoted in her article:

Why DanielleTBD Should Be Watching: 'Legend of the Seeker' Edition...

I watch a lot of TV. You all know that by now. But occasionally there will still be a show that slips by that I don't get into, either because I don't have time for it while it's airing or because it looks like it just wouldn't be my thing. When I can, often times years later, I go back through the DVD archives and give chances to the ones that have become more mainstream in popularity, as I did with LOST earlier this year, or the cult favorites, like Freaks & Geeks or Veronica Mars. Still, there are some that have evaded me nonetheless, so now My Life, Made Possible by Pop Culture is taking a look at those in a brand new column "Why DanielleTBD Should Be Watching." Whereas I am usually the one giving critiques on why you should watch something, this time I am turning it around and asking the fans of very specific programming why they think their favorite show is worth my review. And due to extremely overwhelming response* via Twitter when I first asked my followers on what show they wanted to see an editorial this summer, the debut of this column is with none other than Legend of the Seeker.

First post, hurrah!

Hi everyone, just a short first post to let you all know what we are about. The SOS campaign has been going for a little while now and some people are starting to lose their fighting spirit.
This place has been set up to be a go-to site for inspiring news, updates, tweets, photos, and anything else we can think of.

We will let you know about anything that is inspiring and encouraging so that in turn YOU can feel inspired to carry on fighting

The site will be added to in the future, and we will carry links to other sites that are LotS related.

That's it for now folks - go forth and SAVE OUR SEEKER!
